Do I need an internet connection while I’m using the NAVIE App?

Yes, at least for the first time, when you are downloading the BaseMap which contains all the data which is necessary for the smooth user experience, and also to download your country’s offline maps you need an internet connection (WiFi or cellular data).

Once you have downloaded and purchased the package you want, internet connection is not necessary anymore. The app can run completely offline.

opener

Yes, the BaseMap is necessary to set up the app and use any map-related features.

Do I need to enable background access to the App?
opener

Yes, if you would like the ride tracking to work. Your phone will prompt you to enable background access. You can choose to enable background access all the time, or just while using the app. If you are only allowing background access while using the app, you will need to remember to open the app before your bike will connect with it. If you deny background access, then range calculation and ride tracking will not work properly.
